Every minute, 19 tonnes of plastic waste are dumped into the ocean.

Today, only 9% of the world's plastic is recycled, while the majority ends up in the natural environment.

Once at sea, this pollution becomes virtually irreversible.

We are looking for technical files, financial and institutional partners who want to join us in transforming waste into a resource and building a more sustainable future.

Our association is developing a simple system to collect plastic in the environment before it breaks down into micro-particles:

The plastic, collected directly by the population, is then transformed into recycled building bricks, which can be used to:

  • pave floors and paths,

  • build walls and houses,

  • and construct low-cost sanitary facilities.

The project relies on strong involvement from local communities, who wish to actively participate in its financing.

The plastic collected will be purchased by the kilo, guaranteeing additional income for the most disadvantaged populations.

A replicable reference model

The bricks produced will also be offered at an affordable price, and the revenue generated will ensure the sustainability of the system (overheads, maintenance, future investments).

Our ambition is to create units that can be replicated in other regions based on existing models.

A pilot project will begin in TRICOMALEE and will enable this model to be rolled out in other regions of the country such as MATARA and SIGIRIYA.
